The Wave
Fala
About the painting
A towering wave around the setting sun. An original impasto oil painting on canvas, 120 × 80 cm, 2026.
The energy of water is held at the moment it rises. A powerful wave surrounds the setting sun, bringing cool navy tones and white foam together with heated reds and gold. Directional strokes and raised paint create a sense of motion, weight and scattering light. As the lighting changes, the relief-like surface reveals new rhythms across the water and sky.
